Sala Apolo Concert Test to Determine Future Safety of Events Taking Place on December 12th

2020-12-09 Barcelona

Primavera Sound, La Fundació Lluita contra la Sida i les Malaties Infectioses and the Can Ruti hospital have set a new date to launch the clinical trial of a concert which was scheduled for back in October. The concert was initially postponed due to the rising cases of the Coronavirus.

The new date is taking place this Saturday, December 12th and the volunteers have already received a new call for it. The study will include antigen tests and PCR tests, before and a few days after the concert. 1,000 people will participate in this test and masks are obligated to be worn during the event (except with consuming drinks).

The concert will take place at Sala Apolo in Barcelona featuring music groups Renaldo & Clara, Mujeres, and DJs Marta Salicrú and Unai Muguruza.

The objective for this test is to try out different formulas that can guarantee a safe environment for events to take place in the future, as well as determining the efficacy of rapid antigen detection tests as a screening strategy.
